Date Posted: Friday, October 25th, 2013National Prescription Drug “Take-Back” Day Saturday October 26th, 2013 The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement agencies are working together to sponsor National Prescription Drug “take-back” day tomorrow Saturday, October 26th, 2013. Between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm designated police agencies will accept any outdated or unused medications for proper disposal. Flushing or tossing away the medication in the trash is not recommended since many drugs can persist an cause environment damage. They can also impair the proper operation of septic systems. Experts say periodically disposing of unneeded prescriptions reduces the chances of abuse of confusing medications. According to DEA officials, over half of teens abusing medicines get them from a family member or friend, often without their knowledge. Date Posted: Wednesday, September 4th, 2013Weather permitting; the Mosquito Control Section is planning the following insecticide application during the evening hours of Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 and during the morning hours of Thursday, September 5th, 2013. Application of Anvil 10+10 (Sumithrin/PBO) with truck mounted sprayer to control adult mosquitoes in the following areas: In and near Camden-Wyoming, Laurel, Blades, and Milford and near Seaford, Bridgeville, Farmington, Harrington, Delmar, Millsboro, and Frankford All insecticides to be used are registered with the USEPA for mosquito control and will be applied according to USEPA approved label instructions. Date Posted: Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013Weather permitting; the Mosquito Control Section is planning the following insecticide application between the hours of 5:00am and 8:00am on Thursday, July 4th, 2013 and 5:00am to 8:30pm Friday, July 5th, 2013. Application of Trumpet EC (Naled) with an airplane (registration numbers #N4001A and #N5552A) to control adult mosquitoes in the following areas: In and near Marydel, Sandtown, Seaford, and Blades and near Georgetown, Harbeson, and Milton. For the purpose of beekeeper notification, spraying will be done in spray block numbers: 87, 89, 151, 152, 153, 158, 159, 162, and 172. All insecticides to be used are registered with the USEPA for mosquito control and will be applied according to USEPA approved label instructions. The USEPA has determined that the insecticides to be used do not pose unreasonable risks to human health, wildlife or the environment.
