Brandon Slater, Water & Maintenance Supervisor, In recognition of 10 Years of Service

On Monday, August 8th, 2016, at the council meeting, Brandon Slater was recognized by Mayor and Council for his 10th anniversary with the town.  Brandon started working for the town on July 24th, 2006.  He has been very successful in advancing his skills and managing the progress for the town.  He has served under various commissioners for the Water Department, Streets Department, and the Parks & Cemetery Department.  Brandon has received many commendations for his snow plowing and streets management during snow events.  He has also been nominated for Water Operator of the Year Award.  He worked with the 100th Anniversary Committee to pull off a very successful weekend of celebration that included a parade and bbq.  Brandon maintains his water and wastewater license and continues furthering his education through training sessions.

Whereas, Brandon Slater began a productive and challenging career with the Town of Blades on July 24th, 2006;

Whereas, Brandon Slater has been very successful in advancing his career and within the 10 years of his employment with the town;

Whereas, during the past decade, he has worked with several commissioners over the development of the Water & Maintenance Department, Parks & Cemetery Department, and the Streets Department;

Whereas, Brandon Slater has received many commendations for the snow plowing and road maintenance during snow events from citizens and council alike;

Whereas, Brandon Slater has been nominated for the Delaware Water Operator of the Year Award;

Whereas, Brandon Slater worked tirelessly with the team to have a successful 100th Anniversary Celebration for the town in May of 2015;

Whereas, he has maintained his water and wastewater license and continues furthering his education through training sessions in fields such as Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Course, Cross-Connection Control Surveyor Course, Introduction to Cross-Connection Control, Disaster Management for Water & Wastewater Utilities, along with many others;

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that on this 8th day of August, 2016, I, Mayor Robert Atkinson and the Town Council of the Town of Blades do hereby congratulate Brandon Slater on his many accomplishments and recognize his ten years of distinguished service to our community.

Be It Further Resolved, that we express our appreciation for his leadership and commitment and encourage him to continue to use his gifts and talents to improving and beautifying this community thereby making it a better place for future generations. In recognition of your 10-years of service, hard work, and dedication to the Town of Blades, its citizens, and your fellow employees as of August 8th, 2016 from July 24th, 2006 to July 24th, 2016.
